SHELLFISH

Written & Directed by Hunter Hopewell Executive Producers - Michael & Karla Buhlman

Brothers BAILEY, KANE and KELLER REED grew up making silly videos together, idolizing their hero Director ALEXANDER RONOLLIO. While shooting one of their videos, a freak accidental death of Kane changes everything and emotionally scars Keller and Bailey.

Instead of dealing with their trauma, Keller focuses on animating, and consequently, many emotional beats in the movie are shown through animation. Now, Keller still lives at home with no job, wasting time entering various video contests. Keller's concerned parents give an ultimatum to get a real job, grow up, or move out.

But when Keller learns about a contest sponsored by Ronolio to make a short film in a week, he can’t resist one last shot at his dream. Enlisting his longtime crush HARPER, a now dumbstruck Bailey, and a cast of dysfunctional characters, Keller sets out to make a quick film in one week’s time without his parents finding out. As their shoot consequently unravels, Keller must face his own selfishness and decide which is more important, his filmmaking or his friends and family.

Life comes in waves.
